Recent Projects

  • For small law firm managed transition to hosted Microsoft Exchange email used in conjunction with Blackberries and Microsoft Outlook. Provides 24x7 wireless synchronization of email, contacts, calendar, and tasks between phones and Outlook.
  • Created a wireless network connecting together 10 computers and providing simultaneous access to the Internet through a shared inexpensive, high-speed DSL line.
  • Moved client from Palm Pilot PDA to an iPhone. Trained retired client to use iPhone to keep track of her contacts, to-do list, and address book. I transferred her address book information from another program and then showed her one step at at time how to use the iPhone.
  • Installed new Windows Vista machine at an oil and gas firm and made their antique DOS accounting program work on it and the rest of the network.
  • Helped client purchase appropriate new laptop and transferred data from old laptop to new. Showed client important things in Vista to help him get up to speed quickly.
  • Helped a client move from Microsoft Windows to a new Apple MacBook Pro laptop. This required moving Word documents, Excel documents, address book, email, QuickBooks data to the Mac. I also configured an iPhone to sync with the laptop instead of the old Windows XP computer.

Community Service

In addition to helping friends and family with their computers I also like to volunteer my time and expertise to non-profits. I have a standard discount  of only $80 per hour for non-profits. In addition to this I also have volunteered my services for free to Urban Harvest and for a very modest fee to The Yoga Teachers Association of Houston.
